Big Buddha statue in Phuket

Between the beaches of Chalong and Kata on the mountain, whose height is 350 meters, there is a statue of the Great Buddha. Sculpture in height in 49 meters have started to erect in 2008 on donations which now go on construction of a temple in the basis of the Buddha. You can get to Big Buddha yourself by renting a car or motobike. At the road junction between Rawai and Phuket City, called the Chalong ring, you should turn onto the road leading to the airport. After half a kilometer at the traffic light turn left and follow the signs for about 7 kilometers to the statue. The entrance to the mountain is free.
