Phuket beaches
The busiest beach is Patong, which is probably the most suitable for young people looking for wild nightlife and parties. Holidaymakers can of course spend a day there to see noise and action, but staying there is not recommended. In the south there are other beaches more suitable for families, such as Karon Beach and Kata Beach, but the best beach for families looking for a quality holiday, to this day remains Bang Tao beach, in its Laguna Phuket area.
In the summer of 2014, almost from all the beaches of the island, beds were removed. Thus, the beaches were returned to their pristine beauty and bounty status. Umbrellas, protecting from the sun, you can rent in the markets near the beach.
Since November 1, 2017 in Thailand, smoking is prohibited on the beaches of Patong (Phuket Island), Bophut (Samui Island), on all the beaches of Pattaya, Hua Hin and Cha-am, the island of Lanta. You can smoke in specially designated places. The maximum penalty for violation of the ban will be a year of imprisonment and / or a fine of up to 100 thousand baht (almost $ 3 000).

What to do on the island of Phuket? The first thing, of course, is to sail to Phang Nga Bay and admire the interesting gorges. These rocks were nicknamed “James Bond Islands”, as one of his films was filmed there. It is recommended to book a private tour, which includes sailing in a long boat between spectacular cliffs, kayaking between them and in nearby caves, lunch in a Muslim village on the poles, viewing the famous mushroom rock that was in the James Bond movie and hiking on one of the smaller islands.
One can not ignore the one-day trip to Ko Phi Phi: there vacationers ride a motor boat and admire the local beauties. Most excursions include visits to both islands, Phi Phi La Phi Phi Don and several stops for scuba diving, bathing, eating, feeding monkeys etc. Most tours also go to the island of High, famous for its numerous fish, which can also be fed from the hands.
Private tour to the south and center of the island: you should book a taxi driver (who is also a guide) to go all day to the island. Attractions for families:
- Visiting the temple of Wat Chalong.
- Ascend to a nearby hill to see the Big Buddha of Chalong (still under construction).
- Climb to the Kata viewpoint to see the island from the south.
- Visit the Patong area to see shops, shopping centers, kiosks, busy beaches and all activities (one visit to Patong, of course, is enough). In a large prestigious shopping center there is Jungceylon.
- Factory tour: visit the farm of Methee Cashew Farm and pearl farm Naga.
- It is recommended to swim on one of the beaches in the south of the island. Nai Harn Beach is especially recommended. Children there especially like.
