Phuket Zoo

The island’s zoo (Phuket Zoo) is young enough. It opened in 1997, and its territory of five hectares peacefully neighbors representatives of a variety of families of tropical fauna. Here you can observe the monkeys and elephants, admire the bright plumage of strange birds and respectfully note the magnificent grace of the Bengal tigers.

The main feature of this zoo is a daily show with different animals. There are only three of them, and crocs, elephants and monkeys alternate between them. The very first show starts at 9.00 with the opening of the zoo. You can catch the last performance at 17.30.

There is a cafe on the territory where you can have a snack or drink some cold drinks. In addition to animals, the zoo gladly offers its guests to visit the orchid garden, a small aquarium and make a photo with a chimpanzee or crocodile.

You can get to the Phuket Zoo on your own in a rented car or bike. At the ring, Chalong should be turned onto the road that leads to Phuket City. After passing the first traffic light, turn on the second to the right and, after driving another kilometer, stop on the right side of the road near the gate of the zoo. In total, the ring will have to overcome just over four kilometers.

Helpful hint: in order to have time to see all three performances, it’s better to come to the zoo not later than 14 hours.
